Tree Hazard Assessment

Tree Risk Assessment

A Tree Risk Assessment is a process of evaluating trees to determine their potential risk of causing harm or damage to people, property, or infrastructure.

Beyond visible signs of insect attack or disease, trees are susceptible to numerous hidden issues.

Our arborists are equipped with the knowledge and understanding of a tree's biology and health, we can identify these concerns to compile a comprehensive tree risk assessment. The tree risk assessment serves as a tool to disclose the likelihood of a tree's failure or potential to harm.

Austreelia Tree Consulting has over 25 years experience evaluating and assessing tree hazards, we conduct tree risk assessments using internationally recognised risk assessment methods to identify problematic trees.

The Tree Risk Assessment process

The assessment typically involves a visual tree assessment, which may be supplemented by advanced techniques such as an aerial assessment, sonic tomography or resistograph testing to assess internal decay. Based on the assessment findings, our arborists can recommend appropriate measures to mitigate the risk, such as pruning, cabling, bracing, or in some cases, removal of the tree. The goal is to prevent accidents and minimise potential damage from hazardous trees or tree parts.

When do I need a tree risk assessment?

  • When you have concerns about your tree / trees
